Jag skrev för någon dag sedan inlägget “Nya iPod Touch vibrerar” och tyckte att funktionen var både logisk och bra för exempelvis döva personer som vill använda Facetime.
Nu verkar det som Apple gjort bort sig och angett en funktion i texten om Hjälpmedel som inte alls fanns med i iPod Touch när den skeppades.
Nya versionen av texten som finns på amerikanska sidan och som ni ser nämns inget om att den vibrerar vid inkommande Facetime-samtal.

It works new iPod touch to new iPod touch or iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi — just enter your Apple ID and email address. In fact, making video calls is as simple as it gets: Just tap the FaceTime app and find the person you want to call. An invitation pops up on their iPod touch or iPhone 4 screen asking if they want to join. When they accept, FaceTime begins. If somebody wants to start a video call with you, you’ll receive an invitation on your iPod touch asking you to join. Simply tap Accept, and the video call begins.
På den svenska sidan finns dock texten “along with a vibrating alert” forfarande kvar. Att texten är på engelska även här beror förmodligen helt enkelt på att Apple inte hunnit översätta den ännu.

Om det beror på att Apple tänkt implementera funktionen eller om marknadsavdelningen och ingenjörerna har haft lite kommunikationsproblem låter vi väl vara osagt. Det är i alla fall lite tråkigt att funktionen inte fanns med då det nog varit en bra funktion för hörselskadade.
