Apple tar bort InfoWars podcasts

Apple har idag valt att ta bort flera pod­casts som hör ihop med den ökände kon­spir­a­tionste­o­retik­ern Alex Jones och hans InfoWars från både pod­cast appen och iTunes store. Anled­nin­gen till beslutet är att Face­book tidi­gare tog bort fyra videos kop­plade till Jones för att sedan stän­ga av hon­om i 30 dagar för hat­tal och ta bort hans sidor.

Fem av hans sex pod­casts som är pub­licer­ade av InfoWars togs bort från Apples alla plat­tfor­mar bland annat “The Alex Jones Show” och “War Room”. Den enda pod­cas­ten som nu finns kvar är “Real­News with David Knight”.

Apple säger föl­jande i ett utta­lande:

“Apple does not tol­er­ate hate speech, and we have clear guide­lines that cre­ators and devel­op­ers must fol­low to ensure we pro­vide a safe envi­ron­ment for all of our users. Pod­casts that vio­late these guide­lines are removed from our direc­to­ry mak­ing them no longer search­able or avail­able for down­load or stream­ing. We believe in rep­re­sent­ing a wide range of views, so long as peo­ple are respect­ful to those with dif­fer­ing opin­ions.”

Apple är inte det enda före­taget som har tag­it åtgärder gen­te­mot Alex Jones pod­casts. Även Spo­ti­fy tog bort ensta­ka episoder från “The Alex Jones Show” för­ra veck­an på grund av hat­tal.
