IMAX Enhanced – därför är det något för hemmabionördar

Vad är det och varför är det så bra?

Sommaren är här och visst lockar sol och grillkvällar, men när kvällen blir lite svalare finns det få saker som slår att krypa upp i soffan och se en riktigt bra eller dålig film. Då kanske du har sett märkningen ”IMAX Enhanced”, men vad betyder den egentligen? Det betyder att filmer har optimerats för att ge oss en mycket bättre och häftigare upplevelse hemma framför TV:n eller projektorn. Den största fördelen med IMAX Enhanced är att de flesta filmerna visas i ett större bildformat, vilket gör att vi får se mer av bilden upptill och nedtill jämfört med den vanliga bioversionen. På en vanlig 16:9-TV innebär det mindre svarta kanter och en mer omslutande känsla. Filmerna har dessutom genomgått IMAX kvalitetskontroll för bild och i vissa fall även ljud.

Att utbudet tyvärr fortfarande är relativt litet beror på att varje film måste godkännas och mastras särskilt för IMAX Enhanced. Dessutom krävs att filmbolagen vill erbjuda den versionen på streaming eller skiva, vilket gjort att främst Disney och Sony har satsat på formatet.
